Job Summary
Sambrook House is an award-winning 28 bed, privately owned residential care home, set in the idyllic village of Sambrook - 5 miles north of Newport, Shropshire.
Sadly we are about to lose an excellent night carer because she is relocating to another part of the country. This means that we have an exciting opportunity available. We are seeking a QUALIFIED NIGHT CARER to join our the team.
We would also consider appointing a second person to a Bank post to cover maternity and holidays/sickness etc.
The shift pattern is 7:30pm to 7:30am 3x nights week 1 and 2x nights week 2. This is plus cover for colleagues when they are sick or on leave. The contract is therefore 30 hours per week plus cover. It will include every Saturday night (but no Sunday nights)

You must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle - there is no public transport in the village!
The ideal candidate will have experience in an area such as a nursing home, care home or assisted living facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of person centred care, medication administration, and looking after frail elderly.
Our pay structure is based on qualification
We pay for the full 12 hours of your shift (plus time spent training, or doing other activities associated with the job). We do not deduct money for breaks!
We pay time and a half for Bank Holidays
We pay into NEST pension (should you opt in)
We feed you whilst on shift!
We provide free uniforms and DBS check

Requirements
- Ideally you will hold NVQ2 / 3 or equivalent (or be prepared to undertake a professional qualification with us)
- Previous experience in care, home care, or hospice care is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and case management principles is beneficial.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
