We now have an opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Production Operative to join our Mechanical Assembly Team in our Romsey Head Office, helping people and making a real impact by manufacturing lifting equipment (stairlifts, through-floor lifts, and platform lifts) vital to their everyday life.
Your Role:
- Preparation of materials using certain machinery and hand tools
- Drilling and tapping
- Fitting of various fixings
- General moving of materials
- Use of hand tools
Key Responsibilities:
· Assemble platform and home lift components according to technical drawings, schematics, and design specifications.
· Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery where necessary to fit and secure parts, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
· Perform quality checks to ensure that all assembled parts meet the required safety and performance standards.
· Work closely with other team members to ensure that components are correctly installed and tested.
· Test assembled parts to ensure proper functionality, making adjustments as necessary.
· Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the assembly process and report them promptly to the supervisor or engineering team.
· Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
· Utilise the manufacturing system to accurately monitor the assembly processes, including materials used, time spent, and any quality checks or issues encountered.
· Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to minimise risks and ensure safe working practices at all times.
· Assist with inventory management, including checking the availability and condition of parts and materials needed for assembly.
· Collaborate with other departments to resolve any production issues or delays in the assembly process.
· Be flexible and provide support in other areas of manufacturing when required, including assisting with other machinery or processes as needed to meet production goals
Our Ideal Candidate:
- A team player
- Good awareness of health and safety and good work shop practices
- Ability to work from electrical and mechanical drawings
- Experienced in using hand tools
- Previous experience in an assembly team would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided
