OHM Coaching is a community-based coaching company delivering high-quality sports and enrichment activities in primary schools across London. We are passionate about inspiring children to develop new skills, build confidence and enjoy being active in a fun, inclusive environment.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Dance Coach to deliver a weekly dance club at a primary school in Streatham.
The Role
As our Dance Coach, you will lead a fun and engaging 1 hour 15 minute dance session once a week for primary school children. You will introduce pupils to a variety of dance styles and cultures, teaching dances from around the world while encouraging creativity, confidence, coordination and a love of movement.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for dance who enjoys working with children in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging weekly dance sessions for primary-aged children.
- Teach a variety of dance styles from around the world, introducing children to different cultures through dance.
- Create a fun, safe and inclusive environment where every child feels encouraged to participate.
- Support children in developing rhythm, coordination, confidence and performance skills.
- Adapt sessions to suit different abilities and age groups.
- Manage behaviour positively in line with the school's policies.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children throughout each session.
- Represent OHM Coaching professionally at all times.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about dance and inspiring young people.
- Enthusiastic, reliable and professional.
- Confident leading groups of primary-aged children.
- A strong communicator with excellent organisational skills.
- Able to create engaging and enjoyable dance sessions for children of all abilities.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience teaching or coaching dance.
- Experience working with children in a school, club or community setting.
- Dance teaching or coaching qualifications.
- Knowledge of a range of dance styles and cultural dances.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
