Main duties
As part of the 0-18 Autism Assessment service you will join a large MDT comprising psychologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and community paediatricians.
The post-holder will complete specialist triage and assessment for children and families referred through the Autism Assessment Pathway. This will involve individual and family assessments as part of the wider MDT assessment process, working both independently and jointly with the MDT (e.g. school visits, observation, and involvement with children’s services and other agencies).
The post-holder will attend MDT meetings, as well as indirect work with staff including supervision, training and teaching.
Within the wider Paediatric Psychology service you will work alongside broad MDTs comprising paediatricians, surgeons, specialist nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
The postholder will undertake the appropriate triage, assessment, and intervention with children and young people and their families referred into the service, alongside joint working, consultation and liaison within teams. There are frequent opportunities for involvement in service development and evaluation, audit and teaching/training across both services.
The successful applicant will work across the Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals sites at Pinderfields General Hospital, Dewsbury District Hospital and Pontefract General Infirmary.
