Applications are invited for a training Band 6 to Band 7 Dietitian within the Specialist High Risk Eating Disorders (SHED) service. The role is to provide a specialist service within this Tier 3 provision, providing clinical dietetic input for eating disorders. The team is based in the Cardiff Royal infirmary where users are seen either face to face, in the community or virtually.
The role will require interprofessional working as part of the SHED MDT with support from a wider eating disorder and mental health team of clinicians as well as dietitians. There will also be opportunities to support dietitians within acute settings in the refeeding process of clients to help support their medical stabilisation journey. You would be joining the team at an exciting time for new initiatives for day services.
The post will allow a suitable candidate the opportunity to take the role as a Band 6 and through development and demonstration of a series of competencies develop into a Band 7 role.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
You will work within a friendly and highly skilled department and have numerous opportunities for professional and personal development. You will have line management responsibility for a dietetic assistant practitioner based within the team.
You will be actively involved in the research, audit and the Quality and Safety agenda of the department and UHB. The service is a major provider of pre-registration dietetic education and the successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of training and education.
