Job Title: Church Cleaner (Part-Time) – 12 Hours per Week
About the Role
Suburban Services Limited is looking for a reliable, trustworthy and detail-oriented Cleaner to maintain a beautiful church and adjoining church buildings to an exceptional standard.
This is a varied role where you will take pride in ensuring the church is always clean, welcoming and ready for worship, community events and visitors. You'll be responsible for maintaining both the main church and associated buildings, helping to create a safe, hygienic and peaceful environment.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining a respectful environment.
Working Hours (12 Hours Per Week)
Monday: 7:00am – 12:00pm (5 hours)
Tuesday: 6:00pm – 8:30pm (2.5 hours)
Wednesday: 6:00pm – 8:00pm (2 hours)
Thursday: No service
Friday: Flexible afternoon shift (12:00pm–2:00pm or 2:00pm–4:00pm) (2 hours)
Saturday: No service
Sunday: 7:00am – 8:30am (1.5 hours)
Please note that some flexibility may occasionally be required around church events and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Vacuum carpets and entrance areas.
- Sweep and mop hard floors.
- Clean and sanitise toilets and washroom facilities.
- Clean sinks, mirrors and fixtures.
- Wipe and disinfect touchpoints, doors and handrails.
- Dust and wipe desks, pews, tables, shelving and other furniture.
- Clean kitchens and refresh tea and coffee areas.
- Empty bins and replace liners.
- Clean internal glass, doors and other visible surfaces.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of meeting rooms and communal spaces.
- Carry out general tidying throughout the buildings.
- Replenish consumables such as toilet rolls, hand soap and paper towels where required.
- Report maintenance issues or health and safety concerns promptly.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.

- Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Good spoken English and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and pride in delivering high-quality work.
- Respectful of the church environment and those using the premises.
- Reliable transport to and from the site.
