Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving processes. Previous warehouse experience is preferred, along with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
Duties
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading lorries using appropriate equipment such as forklifts
- Managing stock levels through accurate picking and packing of orders in accordance with company procedures
- Operating warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately
- Assisting with shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring all goods are correctly documented and stored
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation and accessibility
- Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet specified standards before dispatch
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times, including safe lifting techniques for heavy loads
- Supporting other warehouse functions such as inventory counts, cycle counting, and general housekeeping
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehousing or logistics operations is highly desirable
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment, particularly forklifts (licence preferred)
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on a regular basis
- Mechanical knowledge or aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfilment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced setting
- Prior experience with picking & packing, stock replenishment, and quality control processes
Pay: £12.21-£13.50 per hour
