At Tolly's we serve breakfast, brunch & lunch. We are open Monday - Sunday. We are looking for a kitchen assistant to support our head chef in the day to day running in the kitchen. The hours would be roughly 9:30- 16:30, Saturday & Sunday. This job opportunity is NOT in Chippenham and you will need your own transport.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Duties
- Assist chefs with meal preparation and cooking tasks as directed
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils
- Ensure all food safety protocols are followed to maintain a hygienic working environment
- Help with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations for service
- Support catering events by assisting with food presentation and service
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential
- Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods
- Understanding of food safety regulations and practices
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges within the kitchen
