Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Self Employed Courier Driver to join our delivery team. This role involves managing your own schedule to ensure timely collection and delivery of parcels across various locations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in delivery driving, possess excellent communication skills, and be capable of handling physical tasks such as heavy lifting. As a self-employed professional, you will operate independently while maintaining high standards of service and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Collect parcels from designated depots or clients and ensure accurate documentation.
- Deliver goods to various destinations efficiently and safely, adhering to scheduled times.
- Handle packages with care, including heavy or fragile items, ensuring they are secure during transit.
- Maintain communication with clients and dispatch teams regarding delivery status or any issues encountered.
- Manage your own vehicle maintenance and ensure your vehicle complies with safety regulations.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries made, including signatures and timestamps.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures during operations to ensure safe delivery practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with a good understanding of commercial driving regulations.
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for the vehicle operated; a <PERSON> driver qualification is preferred.
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and handle physically demanding tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and dispatch teams effectively.
- Organised, punctual, and able to manage time independently within set deadlines.
- Own reliable vehicle suitable for commercial use; insurance coverage is essential.
- Demonstrable commitment to safety protocols and professional conduct on the road.
Pay: £160.00-£350.00 per day
