Contract: This position is offered on a 24-month fixed-term contract, with the contract period beginning on the employee's first day of employment
Salary: £27,937 per annum FTE (20 hours £15,964 per annum)
Hours: 15 – 20 hours a week worked across 4-5 days
Holiday: 33 days’ holiday whole year and full-time equivalent, including Bank Holidays (pro rata)
DBS: An enhanced DBS check is required for this role

For over 36 years, staff and volunteers at New Hope have been working with people in Watford who are experiencing homelessness. Through a variety of services, we walk alongside people every step of the way from street homelessness to independent living. Our crucial work depends upon our Head Office team, which includes the following functions: HR, volunteering, finance, workforce development, fundraising and communications, maintenance, health and safety, and IT. New Hope’s Leadership Team, which oversees all operational and strategic activity, is also part of the Head Office team.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a person with a passion for administration who finds fulfilment in working behind the scenes. You will excel in communication, organisation, and prioritisation as well as demonstrating empathy and understanding towards people experiencing homelessness. With a keen eye for detail and an understanding of confidentiality and data protection, you will be a team player who thrives in an inclusive, friendly and busy environment, ready to contribute your skills towards our shared goal of preventing homelessness and transforming lives.
You will be confident in communicating with a range of diverse stakeholders, including New Hope staff and volunteers, supporters, and suppliers, managing a wide range of enquiries via phone and email.
Key responsibilities:
· Keep New Hope’s CRM database, Beacon, up to date and import/export data as required for mailings and reports
· Send out internal and external emails, using MailChimp, ensuring the data is up to date
· Respond to fundraising queries and requests from member of the public and supply materials as requested
· Support the team with the production of fundraising and communications materials, including appeals, press releases, prayer diaries, short films, social media, newsletters and reports
· Keep excellent records on our donor database and ensure donors are thanked in a timely and professional manner
· Update the New Hope website with news stories, job and volunteer vacancies, and service information
· Support the team with its programme of events, including fundraising events, an annual celebration and a team conference
Additional Tasks:
· To uphold a culture of flexible working alongside services and Head Office to develop and share knowledge and good practice
· To ensure that all written communication for internal and external use is appropriate and accurate
· To maintain confidentiality in line with GDPR legislation and the highest standards of professional integrity
· To ensure New Hope policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
· To maintain a strong level of communication throughout all of New Hope services
· To attend staff meetings, training courses, supervision and appraisals
· To comply with regulations concerning the use and storage of data, confidentiality, health and safety, and fire precautions
· To undertake any other relevant duties as required or requested by your line manager
