Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking care taker to join our team. This role involves keeping the exterior areas of a busy public space, safe, and presentable for visitors and retailers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for litter picking, sweeping, emptying bins, and maintaining the cleanliness of pedestrian areas, car parks, and surrounding outdoor spaces. This is an active outdoor role that requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and pride in maintaining high standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out regular litter picking across the area
- Sweep walkways, entrances, service areas, and other external spaces.
- Empty and replace litter bins as required.
- Remove leaves, debris, and other waste to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Report any hazards, spillages, damage, or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety procedures.
- Use cleaning equipment and tools safely and correctly.
- Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with members of the public and retailers.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, cleaning, or a similar outdoor role is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to take pride in your work.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices is beneficial.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in keeping public spaces clean, tidy, and welcoming. Full training and equipment will be provided.
Pay: £14.00 per hour
