PCV Operations Assistant
(Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5.00pm £15.50 per hour)

Job Purpose
Paul S. Winson Coaches is seeking a highly organised and proactive PCV Operations Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our busy family run coach operation. This is a varied and fast-paced role that requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of the Operations Team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination of fleet and driver operations while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest standards of compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Front of House
- Act as the first point of contact for drivers and clients, providing a professional and welcoming front-of-house service.
- Liaise with drivers throughout the day to ensure the smooth delivery of services.
- Respond to customer enquiries professionally and efficiently.
Bookings & Quotations
- Build accurate quotations using the company's booking software (Reoville’ s PHcloud system) from customer email and phone enquiries.
- Create and manage bookings, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
- Maintain booking records and communicate any changes effectively.
Operations Support
- Assist with the daily management of fleet operations.
- Support your managers in the smooth running of the department.
- Assist with depot administration and operational support as required.
- Some periods on call would be required.
Fleet & Driver Compliance
- Support vehicle and driver compliance processes to ensure legal and high company standards are maintained.
- Prepare and collate driver information packs for tours / rail replacements etc.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation.
- Assist in monitoring driver and vehicle documentation to ensure deadlines are met.
Technology & Systems
- Work with the company's Samsara telematics software to monitor fleet activity.
- Maintain accurate operational data across company systems.
- Identify operational issues using available technology and communicate findings appropriately.
Communication & Teamwork
- Work collaboratively alongside the Operations Team to deliver excellent service.
- Ensure effective two-way communication between drivers, management, customers and colleagues.
- Attend and contribute to weekly management meetings.
Problem Solving
- Take full ownership of assigned tasks through to completion.
- Proactively identify operational challenges and implement timely, practical solutions.
- Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining a solution-focused approach.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Skills & Experience

- Previous experience within coach, bus, transport or logistics operations.
- Experience using transport management software.
- Experience working with telematics systems.
- Knowledge of vehicle and driver compliance requirements.
- Understanding of fleet operations.

Pay: £34,200.00-£35,000.00 per year
