Maintenance Manager to Join the team at CONKERS
CONKERS is a unique 120-acre outdoor attraction featuring maturing woodlands, lakes, ponds, play areas, activity trails and high and low ropes adventures.
There’s plenty happening indoors too, including our 4D Cinema, Enchanted Play Zone and over 80 interactive exhibits across four seasonal zones.
Open all year round, CONKERS is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to help maintain our buildings, grounds, equipment, train and facilities to a high standard throughout the changing seasons.
The Role
This is a practical, varied role where no two days are necessarily the same. You will help ensure the site is safe, well maintained, clean and ready for our visitors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- General maintenance of buildings, structures and site facilities
- Plumbing, electrical and carpentry work where required
- Maintaining pathways, grounds, play areas and outdoor facilities
- Inspecting and maintaining site equipment
- Supporting site security and waste management
- Liaising with and overseeing contractors when required
- Carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance
- Supporting other departments across the site when required
- Working efficiently and helping to achieve the best results within budget
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and presentation
- Maintaining the operation of our train & track
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
You will ideally have:
- Strong practical maintenance experience
- Knowledge and experience in at least one transferable trade or skill, such as electrical work, carpentry, plumbing or construction
- A good understanding of tools, equipment and general site maintenance
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to undertake physical work
- The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- A flexible approach to working weekends
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
Mechanical knowledge or experience working with trains would be an advantage.
