Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bench Joiner/Cabinet Maker to join our workshop team. This role involves the fabrication and assembly of bespoke cabinetry and joinery products, requiring precision craftsmanship and a strong understanding of various materials and tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality finished items that meet client specifications, adhering to safety standards and project deadlines. Duties
- Fabricate custom cabinetry, furniture, and joinery components according to technical drawings and specifications
- Assemble products using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment with attention to detail
- Operate woodworking machinery such as saws, drills, sanders, and routers safely and efficiently
- Perform precise measurements, cutting, fitting, and finishing work to ensure quality standards are met
- Assist with the installation of completed products on-site when required
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, ensuring all tools and materials are stored correctly
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and clients to ensure specifications are accurately interpreted and executed
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during fabrication and assembly processes
Experience
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, or carpentry within a joinery or woodworking environment
- Proficiency with hand tools such as chisels, saws, planes, screwdrivers, and hammers
- Competence in operating power tools including drills, routers, sanders, and saws
- Knowledge of joinery techniques and principles of carpentry construction
- Experience working with various materials such as wood, MDF, plywood, laminates, or veneers
- Familiarity with roofing, plumbing, masonry or electrical work is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to produce precise craftsmanship
- Previous experience in construction painting or general building work is considered a plus
