Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Our venue currently offers a fresh, seasonal daytime menu featuring light lunches, including freshly made focaccias prepared daily, vibrant salads, light bites, homemade cakes, and pastries. On Friday evenings, we extend our offering with handcrafted pizzas and a selection of small plates in a relaxed, social setting.
We are now looking for a creative Chef who can not only maintain and elevate our existing food standards but also take ownership of developing and launching an exciting new brunch menu to enhance our daytime trade. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys innovation, menu development, and building something distinctive.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained at all times. The Chef will play a vital role in inspiring the kitchen team and maintaining a positive, efficient work environment.
Shift Pattern: Flexible, with 2.5 days off per week. Friday & Saturday finish at 20:30. Sunday finish at 15:30. Can accomodate a Tuesday - Saturday working pattern if preferred.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations and consistently high-quality food production.
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in line with our fresh, daytime-focused offering and Friday evening service.
- Develop and implement a creative, commercially viable brunch menu to expand our daytime offering.
- Oversee food safety procedures, hygiene standards, and kitchen cleanliness at all times.
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise efficiency and profitability.
- Work closely with management on seasonal menu development and future food concepts.
- Train and mentor junior team members to maintain consistent standards and encourage professional growth.
- Coordinate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and an excellent guest experience.
- Maintain an organised kitchen environment that complies fully with health and safety regulations.
Skills & Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a busy kitchen environment.
- Strong background in fresh food preparation, light lunch service, and menu development.
- Experience developing brunch or daytime dining concepts is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- A genuine passion for seasonal produce, creative menu development, and delivering outstanding food experiences.

Pay: £34,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
