About the Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our team in Belfast.
This is a varied role involving the safe and efficient movement of HGVs around our yard and depot, as well as taking vehicles out for scheduled MOT tests.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring vehicles are positioned correctly and safely, helping to keep the depot operating smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Shunting HGVs safely and efficiently around the yard and depot.
Moving vehicles between designated areas as required.
Preparing and positioning HGVs for workshop and operational requirements.
Taking HGVs to and from scheduled MOT tests.
Carrying out basic vehicle checks before moving vehicles.
Ensuring all vehicles are parked and positioned safely.
Working closely with the transport, workshop and depot teams.
Following all site health & safety procedures and company policies.
Maintaining a high standard of care when manoeuvring vehicles around the depot.
Reporting any vehicle defects or issues promptly.
Supporting the wider depot operation when required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A full Class 1 (C+E) driving licence – essential.
Previous experience driving HGVs.
Experience shunting HGVs would be advantageous.
A good understanding of vehicle safety and daily checks.
The ability to manoeuvre large vehicles safely in a busy depot environment.
A responsible and professional approach to vehicle care.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
A clean, safe and reliable driving record.
