Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Care Assistants to join our paramedic led service, working from our Chester Base. You must hold a FREC4, a blue light qualification is desirable but not essential. We are looking to increase our team of ECA's for ambulance and event work.
Duties
- Assist paramedics and medical professionals in providing immediate care to patients at the scene and within healthcare facilities.
- Conduct basic life support procedures, including CPR and airway management, ensuring patient safety until further medical assistance arrives.
- Support with patient care activities such as monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, and providing comfort measures.
- Perform physical examinations and assist with triage to prioritise patient treatment based on severity of condition.
- Administer injections and medications under supervision, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and medical protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, treatments administered, and observations made during emergency interventions.
- Support with hospital transfers, including driving ambulance or emergency vehicles when required, ensuring safe transportation of patients.
- Assist with heavy lifting and manoeuvring of patients using appropriate equipment to prevent injury.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, including infection control procedures related to physiology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology.
Skills
- Proficient in patient assessment, using NEWSs and safely conveying patients with a range of clinical presentations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively during high-pressure situations.
- Good driving skills with a valid licence; experience in ambulance driving is advantageous.
- Physical fitness capable of performing heavy lifting and long periods of standing or moving patients.

Our ambulance shifts are 12 hour duration across 7 days, start times vary. Once compliant you will be added to our event team, we cover a range events across the UK.
