Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team within a bustling hospitality environment. The candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff and chefs, ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently during event days. Duties
- Assist with the preparation of ingredients for cooking and food service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Support chefs and cooks by delivering supplies and assisting with basic food preparation tasks.
- Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the kitchen environment.
- Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper rotation and labelling.
- Participate in regular cleaning schedules to maintain hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
- Support chefs with food preparation and plating up during service
Experience
- Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen is advantageous but not essential; we welcome candidates eager to learn.
- A basic understanding of food preparation techniques is beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are required to maintain a clean working environment.
- A passion for hospitality and culinary arts is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting, as well as taking initiative when working individually.
