Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Regional Transport Manager to lead and optimize transportation operations across multiple locations within our organization. This pivotal role involves overseeing the end-to-end logistics processes, managing transportation teams, and ensuring efficient delivery performance. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives, supervise transportation staff, and leverage advanced systems to streamline operations. Your leadership will directly impact our supply chain efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability.
Duties
- Oversee regional transportation activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods across all locations
- Supervise and develop transportation teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence
- Manage profit & loss responsibilities by monitoring budgets, controlling costs, and maximizing operational efficiency
- Implement process improvements utilizing transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP platforms like AS400
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to optimize freight solutions and service levels
- Oversee shipping & receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety standards
- Utilize forklift and warehouse experience to support warehouse operations when needed
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, safety protocols, and operational excellence
Skills
- Proven supervisory experience in transportation or logistics environments with strong leadership capabilities
- Deep understanding of profit & loss management within logistics operations
- Expertise in transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (such as AS400), and logistics software tools
- Knowledge of 3PL partnerships, shipping & receiving procedures, and supply chain best practices
- Strong background in process improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma
- Ability to manage complex logistics workflows while maintaining high safety standards
- Familiarity with forklift operation and warehouse procedures to support warehouse experience requirements
