Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality care. Duties
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and overall condition, ensuring timely response to any changes
- Provide personal care including hygiene, mobility assistance
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s by implementing specialized memory care techniques and behavioral health strategies
- Respond promptly to emergency situations
- Facilitate safe transfers and mobility using appropriate assistive devices and aseptic techniques
- Communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient status, changes in condition, or concerns about infectious disease control
- Ensure a clean and safe environment adhering to infection control standards and safety protocols
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records and reports for ongoing care planning
Skills
- Proven experience in healthcare environments
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, adults with disabilities, or behavioral health needs
- Ability to handle complex cases involving dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or memory care needs with sensitivity and professionalism
- Strong caregiving skills complemented by basic life support certification and understanding of HIPAA regulations
- Capable of working independently during night shifts while maintaining excellent patient service standards
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and family members
