Job Overview
The Production Operative will support the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the Paint Division. The role involves preparing, coating, finishing, and inspecting metal components in line with customer specifications and company quality standards. Working as part of a collaborative team, the successful candidate will help ensure products are processed accurately, safely, and delivered on time.
Pay and Hours
£12.71 per hour rising to £13.40 after probationary period.
Late shift Monday to Thursday 14:00 - 00:00
Essential Job Functions
- Demonstrate strong knowledge and practical experience within the industrial spray painting industry.
- Accurately identify colours and mix paints, hardeners, and related components to specification.
- Prepare products for painting by degreasing and carrying out mechanical or manual surface preparation to remove oils, dirt, and other contaminants.
- Apply masking materials accurately to protect surfaces from overspray and ensure a high-quality finish.
- Apply epoxy primers, two-pack topcoats, and waterborne paints using conventional spray equipment.
- Inspect products before, during, and after the painting process to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the department, including the cleaning and routine maintenance of spray equipment, tooling, and PPE.
- Work a shift pattern as required by the business.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures, reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to the Supervisor or Manager.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards at all times.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the effective operation of the department and business.

- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience working with epoxy primers, two-pack coatings, and waterborne paint systems would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
