We are inviting applications to support a dedicated team of investigators, working on offences committed against the most vulnerable in society. As an Investigation Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting investigations into serious crime, working alongside detectives and civilian investigators to build cases. We are a supportive and flexible team with a broad range of experience and backgrounds and applications for flexible working hours are welcomed.
The role

Undertake evidence collection to support a mixed team of Police Officers and staff.

Record witness accounts in the form of a statement

View CCTV or other media to identify investigative opportunities

House to house enquiries and exhibit handling as directed by supervisor

Necessity to attend court to provide evidence (as and when required).
The essentials
-
English GCSE (grade 9-1, A-C or Key Skills Level 2 or equivalent)

Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft applications
-
Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact confidently with both staff and members of the public

Proven ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloads
-
Flexible approach to working as some evening work might be required on occasion.

Must have capability to travel to different locations across the Force and undertake all assignments in a timely manner. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason a full UK driving licence is considered Essential.
The hours are Monday to Friday office hours.
