About Us
We are a busy, independent café in the heart of Pimlico, known for our delicious freshly prepared food, including panini sandwiches, pasta dishes, and daily specials. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team and help us maintain our high standards of food quality and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing mise en place for service.
- Prepare and assemble menu items, including panini sandwiches and pasta dishes, following our recipes and standards.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and surrounding areas.
- Ensure the correct use of all kitchen machinery and equipment.
- Assist with stock rotation, labelling, and checking deliveries.
- Support the team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations.
What We Are Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant or in a similar food preparation role.
- Basic food preparation and knife skills.
- A good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
Desirable (but not essential):
- A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
Personal Qualities:
- Reliable, punctual, and hard-working.
- A genuine team player who is willing to muck in.
- Passionate about food and delivering high-quality dishes.
- Eligible to work in the UK (proof of right to work will be required).
