Purpose of Role
We're looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our growing Defence team, supporting the delivery of a major Fire Door Programme valued at approximately £20m across more than 140 live projects. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your project management career while working alongside experienced Project Managers on a high-profile programme
Job Description
Working closely with the Project Management team, you'll play a key role in coordinating projects, maintaining programme information, supporting site activities and liaising with contractors and clients.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong administration and coordination skills who wants to gain hands-on project management experience in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of a large-scale Fire Door Programme
- Maintaining project trackers, reports and programme information
- Coordinating activities across multiple live projects
- Attending site inspections and reporting findings
- Liaising with contractors and key stakeholders
- Acting as a point of contact for project-related enquiries
- Supporting client meetings and communications
- Monitoring project progress and updating programme schedules
- Managing project documentation and records
- Identifying upcoming actions and ensuring key deadlines are achieved
Essential Qualifications/Skills
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a Project Coordinator, Project Administrator or similar coordination role
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Confidence learning new systems and processes
- A proactive and self-motivated approach
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC)
Desirable
- Experience supporting construction, engineering, facilities management or infrastructure projects
- PRINCE2 or project management training
- CSCS Card
- SMSTS
- First Aid qualification
