Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Driver Class 1 - TRUMPER to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles to transport goods efficiently across various routes. Your expertise in flatbed , curtain side trailer, skelly trailer, container industry knowledge and general driving will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, skelly trailer, curtainside trailer ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to identify any maintenance or safety issues
- Load and unload goods with precision, adhering to proper securing techniques, especially when handling flatbed cargo
- Plan and follow optimal delivery routes to meet schedule deadlines while minimizing fuel consumption and delays
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and route sheets
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on route
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders during deliveries
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on flatbed , skelly trailer , curtain side trailer ,and general freight transportation
- Valid HGV Driver’s License (Class 1) with a clean driving record
- Demonstrable knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards for large vehicles
- Experience in delivery driving, particularly with flatbed loads, skelly trailer, curtain side trailer , container knowledge at the Southampton docks is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of vehicle inspection procedures and maintenance awareness
- Ability to plan routes efficiently and adapt to changing schedules or conditions
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor

Trumping job / pay £25 a night out
Holiday Pay 28 Days
