About the Role
Peace Staffing Services Ltd is recruiting on behalf of our client, who is seeking one Senior Residential Support Worker, two Full-Time Residential Support Workers, and two Bank Residential Support Workers (20 hours per week) to join a Children’s Residential Home in Milton Keynes.
The home supports children and young people aged 8–18 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where young people can heal, grow and achieve positive outcomes.

What You’ll Do
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Support children with their daily routines, education and social activities.
- Promote independence, confidence and emotional well-being.
- Manage challenging behaviours using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
- Safeguard children and promote their welfare at all times.
- Maintain accurate daily records, incident reports and care documentation.
- Work closely with colleagues, social workers, schools and other professionals.
- Participate in sleep-in and shift work, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays where required.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Residential Support Workers
- Lead shifts and provide guidance to the staff team.
- Support the management team in maintaining high standards of care.
- Mentor and supervise Residential Support Workers.
- Assist with care planning, risk assessments and regulatory compliance.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working with children and young people, preferably within an EBD Children’s Residential Home.
- Candidates with transferable experience in children’s services are encouraged to apply.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is required for the Senior Residential Support Worker role and desirable for the Residential Support Worker role.
- Good understanding of safeguarding, child protection and trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible approach to shift work, including sleep-ins.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undergo one) and the Right to Work in the UK.
