Pecan Deluxe Candy (Europe) Company Ltd is a wholesale confectionery and bakery Company supplying hundreds of businesses worldwide. We are a small family-owned Company, passionate about providing bespoke tailor-made products and we are proud that our clients include numerous well-known ice cream brands. Our range of products include cookie dough, moulded chocolate, fudge, honeycomb, sauces, caramelised nuts, brownies and sponge cake pieces.
We are looking for a practical, reliable and self-motivated Site Maintenance Operative to join our engineering team on a part-time basis, based from our factory on the Sherburn in Elmet Industrial Estate (LS25 6ES).
The role involves carrying out a wide range of site maintenance tasks including general building repairs, basic joinery, plumbing, decorating and upkeep of internal and external areas. You will maintain site facilities, grounds and equipment, handle contractor management, deliveries and stock, and ensure tools are kept in good condition.
This role is a varied, hands-on role, so we are looking for someone who takes a positive and proactive attitude to work and who takes pride in maintaining high standards within our busy food manufacturing site, warehouse and offices.
We are looking to recruit someone who has proven experience in a joinery or plumbing trade or who has operated in a general maintenance, facilities type role. You must be competent in basic joinery and plumbing and have good, practical, problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, willing to support the team at all times yet be able to work independently, managing their own workload. You must have good communication skills, be organised and reliable. Some basic IT skills are required for recording maintenance tasks.
Where required, this role will involve some manual handling and working at heights. A full driving licence is essential to be able to commute between our factory and office.
For the right candidate we will be happy to consider working hours and days, up to a contracted maximum of 24 hours per week (Monday to Friday), with additional hours available depending on business needs, from time to time.
