Job Summary
Due to an increase in the number of children attending, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting young children’s development, creating a safe and nurturing environment, and fostering positive learning experiences. This role offers an opportunity to work in a small and friendly setting, contributing to the growth and well-being of children in their formative years.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children aged 0-5 years.
- Support children’s emotional, social, and physical development through nurturing interactions.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Observe and record children’s progress, sharing insights with parents and colleagues.
- Assist with daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and hygiene practices.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of care and education are upheld.
- Contribute to the organisation of outings, events, and special activities for children.
- Uphold policies related to safeguarding, child protection, and confidentiality at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of liaising confidently with parents, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS.
- Ability to organise activities that promote learning through play.
- Paediatric First aid.
- The ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the individual needs of each child.
The successful candidate will be required to have an enhanced DBS check.
