We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen for an Accounts Payable Team Leader (Temporary) to join our growing Finance Team here at Holman UK in a temporary full-time position for a period of six months. This role will be based out of our HQ in Chippenham with the opportunity for hybrid working. The salary for this role is circa £40,000 - £45,000 p.a. (pro-rated for the length of the contract) based on level of experience.
This Team Leader role will oversee the day-to-day management of the Transactional Finance team. This role will ensure operational efficiency, strong control of processes, and delivery against SLAs and KPIs, while supporting the team through business changes including the transition to SAP.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise the day-to-day activities of the team

Manage workloads and ensure priorities are effectively balanced

Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and appraisals
-
Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members
-
Act as the first point of escalation for issues and help resolve challenges quickly
-
Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture
-
Monitor team performance against SLAs and KPIs and drive improvements where needed
-
Ensure effective management of open items across all ledgers
-
Oversee timely matching and clearance of Direct Debits (DD) and Faster Payments
-
Maintain oversight of BT vendors and associated processes
-
Support key operational activities including daily financial close and balance sheet reconciliations
-
Work closely with the GL team to investigate and resolve discrepancies
-
Ensure ledgers are accurate, well-controlled, and clean
-
Support readiness ahead of SAP migration by improving data quality and controls
-
Support the Finance Manager in leading the team through SAP implementation
-
Help embed new processes and ways of working

Encourage team engagement and understanding throughout the transition

Support reporting and analysis requirements as needed

Provide insight to help improve team performance and financial processes
We are looking for people who have the following skills and experience:

Strong background in transactional finance

Experience supervising or managing a team

Good understanding of reconciliations, controls, and ledger management

Ability to manage workload, deadlines, and competing priorities

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience with SAP (preferred but not essential)

Experience supporting system or process change
