Who is the Assistant Hospitality Event Manager, and will you operate?
- The Assistant Hospitality Event Manager (AHEM) supports the Hospitality Event Manager in the successful delivery of designated live events across our venues.
- The AHEM forms part of the operational event team, working closely with and under the direction of the HEM and wider Management Team.
- The AHEM takes on a supervisory and supporting operational role, assisting the HEM with the coordination of Front of House teams and the smooth running of each event.
- The AHEM acts as an important link between the HEM and junior operational teams, helping to delegate tasks, communicate instructions and ensure agreed standards are maintained.
- The AHEM supports communication and liaison with the Management Team, Admin Team, Venue Teams and Kitchen Team, escalating key decisions or issues to the HEM where appropriate.
- The AHEM should be confident in taking ownership of delegated areas of an event, allowing the HEM to maintain overall oversight of the operation.
- When required and appropriately delegated, the AHEM may step up to lead elements of an event or service, providing a clear development pathway towards becoming a Hospitality Event Manager.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Hospitality Event Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of events within our hospitality venue(s) and locations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills and leadership with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating outstanding guest experiences, coupled with a love of food and drink. And will have worked on live events with 100 + guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the HEM in the successful delivery of hospitality services for events, including corporate functions, weddings, private parties, conferences and themed events, using the pre-planned event information provided by the HEM and Operations Team.
- Assist with liaison between the Admin Team, HEM and, when required, clients, helping to understand event requirements and ensure plans are delivered effectively. Provide support with pre-event planning where required.
- Work closely with internal teams, including Kitchen, FOH, Admin and Management, to support the smooth and seamless delivery of events.
- Support the HEM in working within agreed budgets and P&L requirements, including suppliers, equipment and event logistics.
- When required, assist with site visits and the setup, delivery and breakdown of events, taking responsibility for specific areas as delegated by the HEM.
- Help ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, fire regulations, licensing laws and individual venue policies, raising any concerns with the HEM or Management Team.
- Assist with the coordination of event staff, including team briefings, allocation of duties and supervision during live events.
- Support the training and development of event teams, helping to maintain the required company standards and promote a One House ethos.
- Respond to last-minute requests and changes professionally and efficiently, referring significant operational decisions to the HEM where appropriate.
- Assist with maintaining accurate event records, feedback and post-event information as required.
- Support the ordering and management of equipment and supplies required for events, ensuring requirements are communicated to the HEM and remain within agreed budgets.
- Take ownership of delegated responsibilities during live events, supporting the HEM and helping to ensure excellent service standards and guest experience throughout.
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Proven experience in live event management within the hospitality sector (1–3+ years preferred).
- Proven leadership and a strong delegator
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- Familiarity with event planning software and tools (full training given)
- Budget management and cost control experience.
- Positive attitude, problem-solving mindset, ability to multitask and the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Knowledge of current food trends, dietary requirements, and service styles (buffet, plated, canapé, etc.).
- Handle client communications and resolve issues before, during, and after events.
- Coordinate with Management, Kitchen, Logistics, Admin, and supplier teams to ensure seamless delivery.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Events Management, or a related field.
- Personal Licence Holder
- First Aid and/or Food Safety certification.
- Knowledge of UK hospitality/event legislation and standards.

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
