Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
- Cook and assemble meals according to specified recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
- Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to at all times
- Support the team during busy service periods by serving meals and attending to guest needs
- Stock ingredients and supplies, notifying management of shortages or issues
- Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist with inventory management and storage of food items
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential; willingness to learn is important
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if required
