What does it mean to be a Howarth Timber & Building Supplies Plumbing & Heating Manager?
As Plumbing & Heating Manager, you'll take the lead in driving sales across our full range of plumbing and heating products, using your expertise and commercial awareness to grow this key area of the business.
Working closely with customers and colleagues, you'll focus on developing new business opportunities, strengthening existing relationships, and delivering outstanding service. Your goal will be to expand our customer base, increase sales and profitability, and help establish Howarth Timber & Building Supplies as the merchant of choice for plumbing and heating products in your local area.
Plumbing & Heating Manager role responsibilities
- Lead an effective Plumbing & Heating department
- Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the full range of P&H products and be able to present products skilfully and with confidence
- Keep up to date with all new P&H product innovation
- Create profitable sales growth
- Manage specific customer pricing terms and be aware of customer credit limits
- Maintain strong working relationship with customers and suppliers
- Collaborate with Branch Manager and branch colleagues to provide outstanding customer service
- Efficiently manage all aspects of P&H stock and stock counts, including slow-moving stock lines and obsolete stock and ensure that related reports are compiled and returned on time
- Merchandising P&H shop floor area, in compliance with Health & Safety policy and procedures at all times
- Invoicing and processing all sales accurately
- Any other duties deemed reasonable within the scope of the job role
What are the requirements to be part of our team?
- Excellent plumbing & heating product knowledge
- Effective communication skills
- Be able to demonstrate successful P&H sales (or management) experience
- Experience and good understanding of using all MS Office, particularly Excel
- Full driving licence
- Availability to work full time, Monday to Friday inclusive, plus alternate Saturday mornings (0800-1200).
