About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a HR Business Partner to join our growing team in Scotland.
This role will be based in Inverness - hybrid working/ subsistence is available
What you'll be doing
- Lead and direct the delivery of the People Plan within the defined part of the BU
they partner.
- Trusted sparring partner for their stakeholder
- Provide one-to-one coaching and advice to senior leaders on people issues such
as senior team and organisational effectiveness, performance management,
talent development.
- Partner with senior leaders and managers to drive the full scope of the talent
agenda – including succession planning, and driving the subsequent
development actions to ensure the availability of talent in the right place at the
right time
- Project manage complex change and transformation projects as required,
coordinating these activities with other HR functions as needed
- Sponsor large-scale project mobilisations and coordinate strategic interventions
to enable growth
- Work with the HR Lead/HRBP’s and other HR centres of expertise to ensure the
effective delivery of relevant people activities across the relevant business areas
- Manage and oversee complex Employee Relations cases in conjunction with ER
Advisor and ER Business Partner support
- Own and drive activities for employee engagement
- Ensure business have fully engaged with and input into people/HR plans
- With the HR Lead, review and analyse HR project outputs and coach business
managers to create action plans to embed change
- Ensure that the organisational structure of the relevant business area is
appropriated sized, and designed to deliver business objectives in the short and
long terms, and ensure that structural change is effectively managed
- Identify strategic resourcing requirements (including current and projected skill /capability gaps) and work with managers and the Resourcing team to develop
and execute strategic resourcing plans
- Build strong relationships across all HR teams, to ensure alignment and
effectiveness of all end to end HR processes
- Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
Who we're looking for
- Proven track record in building effective relationships with complex senior
leadership teams, managing organisational and cultural change initiatives,
and managing the delivery of HR strategies
- Demonstrable experience working within the context of complex, matrix
organisations with a varied workforce and delivering across the full range of
HR disciplines
- Significant experience delivering across the full range of HR disciplines
- Viewed as an emotionally intelligent and trusted business advisor,
maintaining a broad commercial and business understanding to develop
long-term business relationships with the ability to coach and influence senior
colleagues
- Resilient to change in a fast-paced environment
- Driving outputs in ambiguity and in periods of organisational change.
- Delivery through others and people leadership
- Proven exposure to a unionised environment
