Senior IT Service Manager
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Service Manager to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of enterprise IT services across our organisation. Based in Southampton, this is an excellent opportunity for a strategic technology leader with a strong background in IT service management, operational excellence, and stakeholder engagement.
As a Senior IT Service Manager, you will oversee the performance, quality, and reliability of IT services while ensuring they align with business objectives. Working closely with technical teams, service providers, and senior leadership, you will drive service improvements, manage operational risks, and deliver an exceptional experience for internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of IT services across the organisation.
- Manage service performance against agreed service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Develop and implement IT service management processes aligned with recognised industry best practices.
- Oversee incident, problem, change, and service request management activities.
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand service requirements and priorities.
- Manage third party vendors and service providers to ensure contractual obligations and service expectations are met.
- Analyse service performance data and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Lead service review meetings and present performance reports to senior management.
- Support business continuity planning and disaster recovery initiatives.
- Ensure IT services comply with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage service transition activities for new technologies and business initiatives.
- Mentor service management professionals and promote a culture of continuous improvement across the IT function.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior IT Service Manager, IT Operations Manager, Service Delivery Manager, or similar senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of IT service management principles and operational governance.
- Experience managing enterprise IT services within complex business environments.
- Excellent understanding of incident, problem, change, and service level management processes.
- Experience working with cloud services, enterprise infrastructure, and business critical applications.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and vendor management skills.
- Experience analysing service metrics and implementing measurable service improvements.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, risk management, and IT governance principles.
- ITIL certification is highly desirable.
- Additional certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, Microsoft, or cloud platform certifications are advantageous.
