We are a premium quality Bagpipe maker, and we have a fantastic opportunity for a production operator to join our bagpipes division in the heart of Glasgow.
If you are looking for a new challenge in a unique Scottish manufacturing facility, we would love to hear from you. While we are actively looking for experienced CNC operators to join our team, experience is not strictly required.
The Role
You will be crafting components for traditional Scottish instruments. The position involves operating CNC lathes and mills, manual and woodworking lathes, as well as laser engraving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting and operating CNC lathes, CNC mills, and manual lathes.
- Operating laser engraving machinery.
- Inspecting parts using engineering drawings and relevant inspection/measuring equipment.
- Assisting with the assembly of bagpipes.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the work area and performing other general duties as directed/required.
Machinery & Equipment
Experience using Fanuc and Siemens Sinumerik controllers is preferred, however, full training will be provided. You will be working with the following machines:
- Dugard CNC slant bed lathe centres (Fanuc controllers)
- Dugard CNC flatbed lathe centres (Sinumerik controllers)
- XYZ CNC flatbed lathe (Proto Trax controller)
- Ajax mini-CNC lathe centre (Sinumerik controller)
- Dugard 4-axis mill centre (Fanuc control)
- Manual lathes
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and numeracy skills, a keen eye for detail, and be able to follow strict quality control procedures to ensure we deliver the world's finest bagpipes!
Key Requirements:
- Must be based in the Glasgow area (only applications from the Glasgow area will be considered).
- Must have a genuine desire to pursue a long-term career in bagpipe making.
- Strong work ethic.

Pay: £13.00-£15.75 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
