Job Summary
We are a growing electrical contracting firm specializing in maintaining communal areas within blocks of flats and comercial properties. We undertake domestic installations and repair works.
Duties
- Install, inspect, and maintain electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in accordance with safety regulations and technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using hand tools and power tools, diagnosing faults efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance to prevent system failures and ensure optimal operation of electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to execute installations accurately.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to complete projects on time and within scope.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards, documenting procedures as required.
- Assist in upgrading existing electrical systems to meet modern standards or specific client requirements.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- JIB / ECS Gold Card (Highly preferred)
- Valid UTR Number (Unique Taxpayer Reference) for CIS payments
- Own reliable transport and full set of professional hand/power tools
- Valid Public Liability Insurance (Minimum £[2 million / 5 million])
- Up-to-date calibration certificate for your testing equipment
- Proven experience as an Electrician with a solid understanding of electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, as well as power tools like drills and saws.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety procedures, and industry regulations.
- Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics accurately.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with attention to detail.
- Physical capability to work at heights or in confined spaces as required by specific projects.
