Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Hindu Priest to serve as a spiritual leader and community guide. The successful candidate will conduct religious ceremonies, provide spiritual counselling, and foster community engagement through educational and outreach programmes. This role offers an opportunity to support individuals and families in their spiritual journeys while promoting cultural traditions and values within the community.
Duties
- Conduct daily worship (puja) and temple rituals
- Perform Hindu religious ceremonies including weddings, funerals, naming ceremonies, and festival observances
- Deliver religious teachings, sermons, and spiritual discourses (pravachan)
- Provide pastoral care, spiritual counselling, and guidance to devotees
- Maintain and uphold Hindu religious texts, traditions, and temple practices
- Organise and participate in major Hindu festivals and community events
- Supervise and guide volunteers involved in religious activities
- Ensure all rituals and ceremonies are conducted in accordance with Hindu scriptures and traditions
- Lead early morning and evening prayers and other scheduled religious services
Experience
- Be an ordained or formally trained Hindu priest
- Possess strong knowledge of Hindu scriptures, including the Vedas, Puranas, and Upanishads
- Have proven experience in conducting Hindu rituals and ceremonies
- Have previous experience working within a temple or religious organisation
- Demonstrate the ability to lead community worship and engage effectively with devotees
- Possess a thorough understanding of Hindu customs, traditions, and religious practices
- Have effective communication and pastoral care skills
- Be from a Brahmin background in accordance with the traditional religious requirements of the role
