About our Options Services in Glenrothes…
Our Options Services in Glenrothes support young people aged 16 to 26 who have learning disabilities and autism. We are looking for someone who can support them to live the lives they choose. We provide 24-hour care, 365 days a year, so our shift patterns include days, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and waking nights.
No two days are the same, but you will support young people with personal care, housework, cooking and, of course, having fun. Our young people lead active lives and enjoy spending time outdoors pursuing their hobbies and interests, including sailing, hillwalking, sports, music and much more.
In the Glenrothes area we have services supporting children and young people with disabilities. These include two residential services supporting young people with everyday living.
We asked our Young People what qualities they look for in the people who support them. Here’s what they told us…
“I like staff who take me out, who drive my car, take me on the bus and go for a walk. I like staff who listen to me”
“Funny, staff who make me laugh".
What we are looking for...
You will provide person-led support that promotes independence, choice and confidence. Our young people are vibrant and we're looking for people who share that enthusiasm and can support them to get the most out of life.
We have part time and full-time contracts available, working as part of a residential rota as well as relief work. Our relief workers play a crucial role in supporting our team. Relief work is offered on a casual, hourly paid basis to cover during staff absence and or particularly busy periods. Please specify on your application the hours you are looking for.
A relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above (for example: SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People, plus an HNC) is desirable, however we welcome applicants from all backgrounds who have a willingness to work towards the qualifications.
At Aberlour we want to make sure every child and young person has the love, support and opportunity they need to reach their potential. If you share the same vision, we want you to join our team. To have a look at our values click here.
What we offer...
As well as a supportive team and excellent training opportunities, we want all our employees to feel valued and rewarded for the vital work they do. When you work with us, we'll recognise your efforts with generous annual leave, an excellent employer pension scheme and a range of deals and discounts across various retailers.
