Graduate Research Assistant or Postdoctoral Research Associate
This full time fixed term post is available from 1st of October 2026 to the 31st of May 2027 and is based in the European Centre for Environment and Human Health, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.
This post is offered as a fixed term contract and is funded by UKRI/Horizon Europe until 31 May 2027.

The starting salary will be from £33,951 on Grade E for the Graduate Research Associate or from £34,610 on Grade E for the Postdoctoral Research Associate depending on knowledge, skills and experience.
The Role
The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences wishes to recruit a Graduate Research Associate or Postdoctoral Research Associate depending on knowledge, skills and experience to support the work of Dr Lewis Elliott on the Horizon Europe-funded RESONATE (Building individual and community resilience through nature-based therapies) project.
The successful applicant will contribute to the completion of several tasks on the RESONATE project including:
- A mixed-methods synthesis of process evaluation data from several NbT interventions across Europe.
- Refining a best-practice process evaluation guide for NbTs.
- Producing papers and other outputs from the work package.
The post will include qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
About You
Graduate Research Assistant: The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will be educated to the level of a BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study such as psychology, sociology, public health, or human geography. They will be able to demonstrate robust knowledge in their discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within the established research project. An MSc (or close to completion) in research methods (or related areas) would also be desirable. Applicants will be able to work to agreed timelines and milestones, have excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate activities with the other team members and participants, an enthusiasm for open science, and for communicating the results of the project to the general public or professional stakeholders in an appropriate manner.
It would be desirable that applicants will have prior experience in a related area that includes evaluation, randomised control trials and/or relevant quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
Applicants will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work within a diverse research team.
Postdoctoral Research Associate: The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will be educated to the level of a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study such as psychology, sociology, public health, or human geography. They will be able to demonstrate robust knowledge in their discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within the established research project. Applicants will be able to work to agreed timelines and milestones, have excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate activities with the other team members and participants, an enthusiasm for open science, and for communicating the results of the project to the general public or professional stakeholders in an appropriate manner.
