Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced mechanic and tyre fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, with a particular focus on tyre fitting and related mechanical tasks. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and tyre conditions
- Remove and replace tyres efficiently using hand tools and power tools
- Carry out mechanical repairs including brake work, suspension, steering, and engine diagnostics
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid top-ups, and filter replacements
- Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during repair procedures
- Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle components or tyres to ensure safety standards are maintained
- Maintain accurate records of all work carried out and parts used
- Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a mechanic specialising in tyre fitting or similar roles
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose faults accurately
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for various repair tasks
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Valid relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive repair or tyre fitting preferred
- A proactive approach to work with good communication skills
