At the Reading Room at Saltdean Lido, we’re building something special.
Set within one of the UK’s most iconic coastal destinations, this is more than just a café or restaurant it’s a large-scale, multi-faceted hospitality space combining all-day dining, events, weddings, and high-volume seasonal trade.
As part of the Reading Room team, you’ll be joining a family-run business known for its standards, energy, and strong team culture. We’re hands-on, we support each other, and we take real pride in the experience we deliver from the smallest details to large-scale events.
With a busy season ahead, we’re looking for Front of House team members who want to be part of a fast-paced, exciting environment where no two days are the same.
What you’ll be doing:
- Welcoming guests and creating a strong first impression
- Delivering efficient, friendly service across busy shifts
- Running food and drinks while maintaining high standards
- Supporting bar service and beverage preparation
- Managing sections and taking ownership of your area
- Keeping service flowing smoothly during high-volume periods
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation across the venue
- Supporting opening, closing, and restocking duties
- Assisting with events and weddings, from setup through to delivery
- Working closely with the wider team to deliver a consistent guest experience

- Confident handling busy services and large volumes

- Reliable and organised with a good work ethic
