We are searching for bright and motivated technicians to join our team of Stage Production Technicians at the Gillian Lynne Theatre for the run of My Neighbour Totoro.
What you’ll be doing…
Working on shows and technical rehearsals of the My Neighbour Totoro.
As part of the Production Technical team, you will be preparing the show each day and helping to conduct safety checks.
Working closely with the visiting Company and its Stage Management to ensure the smooth and safe operation of each show.
Working as part of a team to maintain a professional work environment, where performers, technicians and audience members are safe.
Ordinary duties may include (but are not limited to):
Pre-setting ready for the show.
Following a ‘plot’, both on stage and on the fly floor.
Pushing, pulling & lifting heavy scenery as a team.
Moving scenery or effects in time with music and under direction
Wearing black clothing and wearing personal protective equipment e.g. steel toe cap boots
Maintenance shifts as required
The use of double purchase counterweight flying systems.
Carry out visual checks on moving scenery
Operation of chain hoists

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Essential
- Ability to follow clear instructions
- Ability to follow a cue sheet independently
- Ability to work with others under instruction.
Advantageous
- Experience with the use of flying systems and flying large scale productions
- Previous experience crewing large scale productions

- A quick learner who is keen to develop their knowledge
- A flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
- A proactive and calm approach to problem solving
- A positive outlook and ability to communicate effectively
Salary: £17.47/hour + overtime as required, rising in line with SOLT/BECTU agreements.
