An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and adaptable Business Operations Assistant to join our Office team at Newport Galvanizers Ltd in Newport, Wales. We are part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, a successful family-owned business offering secure employment to its employees for over 150 years. We have 15 sites nationwide and apply corrosion protection to all the steel you regularly see around you such as street furniture, lampposts, bridge beams and even football stadiums through our galvanizing process.

What’s the role?
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to kickstart their career and learn how a successful manufacturing business operates. We are looking for a mature, reliable individual who is IT confident, willing to learn, and prepared to get stuck in wherever needed.
The successful candidate will work across a variety of business functions, gaining experience in areas including:
- Production control
- Transport planning and logistics
- Goods inward administration
- Invoicing and payroll support
- Customer service and sales administration
- General business and office operations
The role has been created to provide support across the business, helping cover key activities during periods of absence, peak workloads and business growth. Over time, the successful candidate will develop a broad understanding of the company and may progress into a permanent specialist or management position as opportunities arise.
What are the hours?
Monday to Friday inclusive working 37.5 hours per week. These are usually worked in 7.5-hour slots at some point between 07:00 and 18:00.
