Job Summary
We are seeking a part time cook for our newly opened café situated above our busy DIY retail store serving the local community with a wide range of tools materials and accessories for professional tradespeople, homeowners and DIY enthusiasts. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cooking, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support cooking processes, ensuring dishes are prepared efficiently and to the highest quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Help with inventory management, including stock rotation and storage organisation
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment
- Support serving staff during busy periods, ensuring timely delivery of meals to customers
- Contribute to maintaining a positive team atmosphere by collaborating effectively with colleagues
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking is essential.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and basic culinary techniques is essential.
- Experience working in a cafe or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is essential. Training will also be provided.
- Ability to maintain high standards in a fast paced environment.
Terms
- 20 hours per week on a rota basis to include some weekend work
