Classroom Link is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teacher to work within a supportive educational setting in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people with SEMH needs by helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.
We welcome applications from both qualified teachers and experienced educators who have a strong background working with children and young people, particularly those with additional needs or behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of individual learners
- Support pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural difficulties, and additional learning needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote engagement, confidence, and wellbeing
- Implement effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, parents, and external agencies
- Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to support plans and EHCP outcomes
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Previous teaching experience or experience delivering learning to children and young people
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEN, Autism, ADHD, or challenging behaviour is desirable
- A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Qualifications
- QTS/QTLS is desirable but not essential
- Applications are welcomed from experienced unqualified teachers, instructors, tutors, HLTAs, and education professionals with relevant classroom experience
