Product Manager
Fast Mover Tools Ltd is looking for a full time product manager that will take responsibility for sourcing products from around the globe negotiating with vendors to secure a competitively priced own branded quality product to add to our branded range of products for the automotive refinish industry.
You will need to manage the procurement so there is a consistent minimum 4 week stock availability in the U.K warehouse.
This is a proactive role that requires you to work on your own initiative and collaborating with the sales and marketing teams to provide a constant stream of new products to the range.
We believe in great working relationships with our vendors and that we get more from them if we are working with them in proactive and transparent way.
You will be reporting to the managing director and expected to have weekly meeting with them to report on progress on new products, product performance, purchase order status and cash flow forecast.
You will be office based and with the occasional trip to visit vendor factories.
This role will be rewarded well and with performance bonuses in place.
Key responsibilities
· Maintaining 100% stock availability
· Maintaining a 4 week stock turn
· Ensuring product can be sold with a minimum of 30% GP
· Ensuring product is legally compliant
· Ensuring the product is promoted and pushed by the marketing and sales teams
· Ensuring the product is listed correctly with pricing and product information in the ERP system
· Ensure the product has correct and quality photos and short and long descriptions for the B2B
· Ensure there is no more than 8 weeks of stock in the U.K warehouse at any time
· Ensuring a great relationship with the vendor
Key Tasks for product sourcing
· Work with sales team to identify new products to add to the range
· Market research into the product for price and packaging requirements using surveys and customer questioning
· Work with the sales team to calculate a forecasted qty to sell
· Identify multiple vendors to work with
· Get competing quotes and proposals from each vendor
· Arrange for samples to be sent to the office
· Ensure vendor is ethically sound
· Ensure the product is compliant for the U.K & European markets
· Enter all vendor details into our CRM and ERP systems.
· Present the different options to the directors with highlighting the preferred vendor
· Identify the chosen vendor and ensure secondary vendors are in place
· Work with the preferred vendor to create a series of proposed purchase orders based on the forecasted sales for the next 12 months
· Raise and release a PO with the vendor
· Work with finance team to get initial deposit paid
· Work with marketing team to get the artwork completed
· Making sure each product has the correct commodity code
· Work with compliance team on any specific legal requirements.
· Work with the compliance team to get any relevant manuals, TDS & SDS completed
· Once initial stock is in the warehouse work with the marketing team to get photos and videos done and the product correctly set up in the ERP and B2B system and placed on the ecommerce platforms.
· Work with marketing team to create blogs and catalogue content
Key tasks for procurement
· Work with the vendors with our forecasted sales to ensure they can ship on-time.
· Work with vendors and shipping agents to ensure shipments are shipped at the beginning of each month and where possible consolidated with other shipments to get the best shipping rates.
· Managing a team of purchasing administrators, making sure all documents are uploaded on BC correctly
· Managing the quality control of all purchase orders and any quality issues
You will be measured by
· Your ability to be creative to source new products and vendors
· Stock availability
· The performance of the product by GP% and sales against forecasted sales set

Pay: £55,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
