Sous Chef – Busy Food-Led Country Pub

About the Role
As Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to maintain exceptional food standards while supporting and motivating the team. You'll be confident taking charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence and committed to delivering a fantastic dining experience for every guest.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting the Head Chef with the smooth running of the kitchen.
- Preparing and cooking fresh, high-quality dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Preparing and managing our daily carvery, including roasting meats, preparing vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, gravies and ensuring that the carvery is fully stocked and well-presented throughout service.
- Leading and motivating the kitchen team during busy services.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards.
- Assisting with stock control, ordering, and reducing waste.
- Helping to develop seasonal menus and daily specials.
- Training and mentoring junior chefs.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has previous experience as a Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie ready for the next step.
- Is passionate about fresh, quality food.
- Performs well under pressure in a busy service.
- Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or is willing to obtain one).
- Is reliable, positive, and a great team player.

Hours: Full-time, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
