The Senior Governance Officer will play a crucial role within the University’s Governance Office, supporting the effective operation of governance frameworks and decision-making processes. Working closely with the University Secretary, Executive Board, and University Council, the postholder will ensure that governance activities are well-coordinated, compliant, and delivered to a high professional standard.

Support the smooth operation of Boards and Committees, ensuring adherence to terms of reference and governance requirements.

Manage key governance structures, including the University Council, its committees, and the Executive Board.

Coordinate agendas, papers, and documentation to facilitate effective decision-making.

Organise and service meetings, including preparing documentation and taking accurate minutes.

Maintain action logs and ensure timely follow-up on decisions and agreed actions.

Communicate outcomes and decisions clearly to relevant stakeholders, including paper authors.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a governance, administration, or similar role within a complex organisation.

Experience supporting senior stakeholders and managing high-level meetings or committees.

Experience in preparing governance documentation, agendas, and minutes.

Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.

Evidence of continuous professional development (desirable).

Working hours: 35 hours per week.

This role is for a fixed term period until 31 July 2026.

The anticipated start date is as soon as possible.

The role is full-time, although part-time will be considered.

The role is fully office-based.

We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
