We have an exciting opportunity for a workshop assistant to join our expanding team at XCS Designs in Saffron Walden.
We are looking for either a trainee (would suit school/college leaver) or someone with more experience.
As manufacturers of hand crafted super cars, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who works well under pressure, with excellent attentional detail. The ideal candidate will be someone who can manage a variety of fabrication jobs from start to finish to a high standard.

Main Responsibilities:
- Assisting workshop manager with tasks
- Ensuring work is carried out to a high standard of quality
- Adhere to a high level of personal presentation
- Maintain the workshop in a clean and professional way
- Ensuring that all plant and equipment is maintained correctly, and any defects are reported
- Be familiar with and work to the company’s health and safety standards
- To comply with all company policies and procedures
- Support other departments where required

- Energetic, proactive, calm under pressure, highly personable, and mature personality
- Strong team worker, ability to thrive in a small closely knit and dedicated team
- Excellent organisational skills
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Flexibility – must be prepared to work longer hours when occasionally required
Hours of Work:
- Part Time, Flexible Hours: Tues-Fri, 9.00 to 5.00
Salary
- Minimum wage - dependant on experience. This position is on a self employed basis.
