We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team and deliver exceptional service across various routes. Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 trucks with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and security
- Deliver goods to various locations, including refrigerated facilities, construction sites with flatbeds, or tanker stations, following planned routes efficiently
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each shift
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to confirm delivery times and resolve any issues promptly
- Follow all company policies related to load securement, route driving, and vehicle maintenance
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 license with proven experience in commercial driving and route delivery
- Demonstrated proficiency in driving manual transmission trucks safely and confidently
- Experience operating specialized trailers such as refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks is highly desirable
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other handling equipment when necessary
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance standards for freight transportation
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan routes effectively for on-time deliveries
- Physical capability to handle heavy loads and perform vehicle inspections as required
